Sometimes the photos you didn’t know you needed come when everything falls apart a little.

This sweet little guy wasn’t having it this day. No smiles, no poses, just tears and snuggles. So we let go of the plan, and embraced the moment for what it was — comforting arms, whispers of reassurances, and lots of love in motion.

Family photos are about connection, and that’s what we got to capture here 🙂❤️

Probably some of the most beautiful blue eyes I’ve ever seen with Angela and her boys (sorry Peter)😆 But seriously, such a beautiful family inside and out!

While Angela & the boys carry the ocean in their eyes — bright, deep and full of movement. Peter’s holds a steadiness of the earth. A ying & yang, Water and earth — life and grounding, a flow and the root. 🌊 🪵

Even though it was a shorter session, hearing how much they travel was so inspiring and has given me a bit of the travel bug, reminding me that I need to get back out and start travelling again!

While editing these photos, I realized how many German Shepherds seem to run in the family - which is funny because our values are rooted in loyalty, trust, and protection, just like a German Shepherd. Our family has always been protective of one another, bubbled in love, loyalty, resilience and trust so it makes sense these are the dogs we gravitate to 🥰🐕

A little update on what I’ve been up to recently:

• I’ve recently applied to volunteer with two causes close to my heart that I’m excited to share more about soon. I’ll keep you posted once I get a bit deeper in the process but I want to give back by doing something I love to do.

• I’ve been working behind the scenes on re-designing my website — so keep an eye out! I’ll be sharing it soon with some fresh little updates.

• As some of you know, I had to say goodbye to my best friend back in December — my soul dog, and truly one of the greatest joys of my life for the last 12 years. She showed me what unconditional love is and how lucky I am to have had something so beautiful in my life to grieve the loss of. It’s wild how a pet can teach you something so deeply human.

• I’m beyond ready for spring, summer, and fall — golden light, warm evenings, love-filled sessions, and all the beautiful moments I get to capture with you. Whether you’re here as a client, a fellow creative, or just love beautiful things — I’m so glad you’re here.

Me personally, I have no idea what this year has in store for me. I had some tough challenges in 2024 and a big loss in the last month so I’m tossing everything up into the wind to see and be open to whatever falls! One goal I do have though is to be more active in my photography, grow a little bigger, network a bit more with the community and see what happens!

I had some tough challenges in 2024 and a big loss in the last month so I’m tossing everything up into the wind to see and be open to whatever falls! One goal I do have though is to be more active in my photography, grow a little bigger, network a bit more with the community and see what happens!

The groomsmen pulled off a fun reveal with superhero undershirts under their suits, and Madelin rocked not just a floral bouquet but a custom-made LEGO bouquet too!

and speaking of surprises... I had my turn to shoot a wedding in full blasting hot sun, which, let’s just say, is a photographer’s ultimate test of patience and skill. But, just like superheroes, I think we pulled it off! 💍☀️✨

2. It’s a lot of work - All I had to do was get ready and show up.

—> I don’t have to get ready, set my camera up, put on timers, chase the dog, take triple the time to attempt to capture the same angles - then go and back up photos, cull, and edit. I know how time consuming it all is. Time I don’t have.

3. It allows me to network/connect with another photographer in my area

4. I get to support another small business entrepreneur

• My dog is turning 12 and we’ve practically grown up together. She has played such a significant piece in my life in so many ways that it’s inevitable that I will out live her.

A dream of mine has been to take my Photography closer toward and into the mountains since I moved out West, and I’ve finally started to do that more this year!

The crisp air, the ever changing light, a misty evening, a golden sunset or a full on snowstorm - it doesn’t matter what version of the mountains you get because it always makes you feel some kind of way inside being near them. ⛰️☀️

A dream of mine has been to take my Photography closer toward and into the mountains since I moved out West, and I’ve finally started to do that more this year!

You know those days where you need to be on your A game and instead everything goes wrong? Like you shouldn’t have left the safety of your bed that morning?

• You wouldn’t know from these pictures but I had some gear that failed, it was cold, windy and it decided to rain literally over the only area I was shooting.

Have you ever had something important fail on you? What was it and how did you push through it, what did you do?

I wanted to tell you a little bit more about myself since I’ve noticed some new followers! When I’m not working on my Photography I can be found working at my main job dispatching for EMS.

• I have a beautiful Husky/Shepherd pup that has been my world for over 11 years. Our time feels very limited and counted now so I’m trying to soak up every moment I have with her during my days off. 🐕

• I am obsessed with all things dill pickle. I make my own pickles every year and a sure way to my heart will always be Kernels dill pickle popcorn 🍿🥒

• I feel the most at peace, calm and happy when I’m either in the mountains or near a body of water. ⛰️🏖️

• Some of my favourite smells are freshly cut grass, burning wood, flowers and pine trees in the forest. 🌳🪵

• I have an older brother that I very much look up to. When life gets overwhelming he’s always there to remind me how much there is to be thankful for, to buck the hell up and get back out there! 🙃💙
